Bombarral

O Monbarral, como era conhecido no século XIII (Monte do Barral), já foi uma herdade pertencente ao Mosteiro de Alcobaça, fazia parte de uma grande área, juntamente com Alcobaça, Nazaré e parte das Caldas da Rainha onde os monges de Cister, ordem religiosa de São Bernardo desbravaram terras e desenvolveram a agricultura.

O desenvolvimento desta terra parece ter desacelerado, nesse processo sobreviveram algumas pérolas da identidade desta terra, tanto na vertente construída como no bom costume de bem receber.

É fácil de imaginar o que os monges e camponeses destas terras faziam durante a tarde dos dias mais calmos, é uma terra de vinhas e vinho.

No centro do Bombarral, fiz um registo da casa onde viveu Abel Pereira da Fonseca, foi projectada pelo arquitecto Norte Junior na primeira metade do séc. XX, dá-nos uma atmosfera pitoresca e romântica muito interessante.

Acabou por ser um encontro pouco produtivo, especialmente depois do almoço, aqui fica o possível registo da tarde, nos jardins da Câmara Municipal, onde se deu o almoço prolongado. 

Foi um encontro surreal, não só pelo excelente convívio e pela celebração dos dez anos dos urban sketchers, com acompanhamento a nível mundial mas porque não é todos os dias que se almoça com um presidente de Câmara e se continua pela tarde em conversas interessantes, onde se juntam quatro americanos alternativos do Texas, castanhas, licor de medronho e jeropiga.
